CCO, Catholic Christian Outreach is a group on my school campus. It is a university student movement dedicated to evangelization. We challenge young people to live in the fullness of the Catholic faith, with a strong emphasis on becoming leaders in the renewal of the world.
The team leader for my campus, Mellisa got a new position with CCO and hence, she had to leave. We had a farewell gathering for her in April and here are some of the things she said:
We have to see, create and take every opportunity to be a missionary…. to share the gospel. It means not compromising, having integrity, etc. It doesn’t have to be a burden. Does it cost me something to be a missionary? Heck, yeah.
But whatever I receive is far greater than the costs. If not this, then what greater thing could I be doing?
I am Catholic all the time. Part-time student and part-time something else. My baptism is forever.
By baptism, we are all called to be missionaries. It is not something that I do, it’s something that I am.
